Specialized programs of our Korean Language Institute



  1. Our institute provides a variety of special lectures and cultural experiences. You can observe classes of your major in our university degree program and attend special lectures offered by professors, which can be helpful for your college admission. There are various cultural lessons, field trips, and school excursions that will allow you to understand and experience Korea and the Korean culture.

Classes are held five days a week for ten weeks, totaling 200 hours.

∙ Special lectures, field trips, cultural experiences are offered a total of eight times each semester.

∙ The above schedule may vary depending on the circumstances.
2. Short-term Program

∙ This is a program which allows you to learn Korean in a short period of time by taking advantage of school holidays.

∙ You can experience Korean culture through a variety of cultural activities.
Registration Guidelines

1. Eligibility for applicants

Foreigners or overseas Koreans with high school diploma or more
2. Required documents

1) Required for all

One copy of the Application Form provided by the Korean Language Institute

One photocopy of the passport

One copy of certificate of graduation from the last school attended (or a proof of enrollment), one copy of

transcript

Two photographs (3cm×4cm)

Certificate of deposit balance of more than USD 10,000 (the balance must remain at least three months after

the school begins)

One copy of the Application Form provided by the Korean Language Institute

One photocopy of the passport

One copy of the student and the parents’ national identification card

One copy of HUKOUBU form (family register)

Certificate of employment and income of parents (original copy)

Certificate of sponsorship from a Korean citizen (notarized)
3. Application for visa

Students who have been accepted can apply for short-term multiple visa (C-3) and general training visa (D-4).

C-3 visa is valid for up to 90 days and you must change to D-4 visa if you plan to continue studying.
4. Application procedures

Submission of application forms —> Paper screening and interview —>Notification of acceptance—> Registration —>Issuance of acceptance —>Application for visa —>Entry to Korea —> Placement test
5. Tuition

∙ Application fee: 50,000 won (not refundable)

∙ Tuition: 1,100,000 won per semester (textbooks/housing not included)

∙ Academic scholarship and special scholarship available

∙ Dormitories provided or safe and convenient housing will be available
6. Insurance is required

All students must be enrolled in insurance.

(Exceptions: if you have insurance in your home country, you must submit the proof of insurance in

documents)

Insurance fee may vary according to age and gender, and the fee must be wire transferred together with the

tuition.

Explanation of Levels in Regular Program

Levels

Education goals

Level 1

・Students can write and read Hangul, the Korean alphabet.

・Students can say basic Korean words and phrases and be able to write and read basic

Korean.


Level 2

Students can pronounce accurately after mastering Korean phonological and pronunciation rules.

Students acquire basic communication skills and language related manners.

Level 3

・Students can read and write on specific topics.

・Students acquire communication skills needed to get by for everyday life.



Level 4

Students learn and utilize idiomatic expressions, four-character idioms, and proverbs.

Students can understand current social issues and can express their own thoughts on them.

Level 5


Students learn and utilize the required skills in college academics such as writing reports,

reflections, and essays, giving presentations, and participating in discussions.

Students can understand Korean way of thinking, Korean history and its cultural, social

issues and also can express their own opinions.

Level 6

Students can make versatile use of Korean grammar for complex and professional activities.

Students learn advanced vocabulary and expressions required for college (or graduate

school) lectures to prepare reports or papers.
