Learners of 50+ who wish to learn basic Polish and are interested in getting to know Polish culture, history, art , the Pomeranian region etc. as well as exchanging opinions and information about selected areas of culture and art from their own countries. The participants will also acquire new learning skills and gain insights into the subject of learning techniques. Part of the activities – sightseeing, discussions, exchange of opinions, ideas and information about their own culture and art. (level A2 of English according to the European Framework of Languages). Motivation of candidates will be the decisive factor in the selection process. Professional development is excluded.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
The program of workshops will be divided into daily modules holding similar elements:
1. Learning basic Polish in classes by means of communicative method; students will gain the skills of communicating in Polish in typical situations (functional language) connected with their stay in Poland. During all types of activities the participants will also acquire modern techniques of learning . The programme of teaching Polish will combine modern and innovative techniques with the needs of learners 50+ ( the pace of the course, didactic materials, subjects connected with hobbies and interests of that age group)
2.The next module will be a panel ( presentations and discussions), matched thematically with the type of tasks realized in the classroom. E.g. cuisine, architecture and art, folk art and crafts, nature, music and dance, history. Before coming to Poland, participants will be asked to prepare a short presentation ( not necessarily in the electronic form) on one of the chosen subjects from their native country and culture. After participants’ presentations there will be a presentation on this subject given by the Polish side ( e.g. by volunteers, our 50+ learners) and a discussion in English will follow.
3.Sightseeing and language projects in the most interesting and attractive parts of Tricity ( Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia).

The activities will be practice-oriented with the necessary theoretical background. Participants will have the opportunity to implement the workshop experience and knowledge. The programme of the Workhop: Intergenerational dialogue: talking to children so that they listen; exchanging the experiences of the upbringing between grandparents and their children (parents) contructively ; passing on the experience and knowledge to grandchildren effectively ; wise and effective rewards and fines; loving without spoiling; setting the limits for grandchildren; INTUITIVE PARENTING - NEW TENDENCIES IN UPBRINGING: basics of attachment parenting and babywearing; carrying babies in slings, wraps and soft carriers; senior health, stamina and babywearing CREATIVE GAMES AND PLAYING WITH CHILDREN: basics Developmental Movement Method (DMM) by Veronica Sherborne; DMM as energetical balance for grandparents and children; emotional relation improvement through DMM; the use of DMM in the field of body work for seniors: self-acceptance and awareness; the elements of relaxation in DMM; family picnic as the way of spending time with families;

Mature people (aged 50+) who would like to learn more about their own body, how it functions and what they can do to help it thrive and age beautifully. The participation of persons from vulnerable social groups (long-term unemployed, people living in rural or economically disadvantaged areas, representatives of immigrant, ethnic or other minorities) will be encouraged. No special skills or knowledge required.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
The main goal of the workshop is to help everyone who wants to actively take a more conscious approach to their body to explore and learn practical and effective ways they can help their body to serve them in good health for a very long time. During the 6 days of the workshop participants will have a chance to: - get to know their bodies better (through lectures, visual aids and practical body awareness sessions) - orient themselves to their bodies both physically and psychologically - understand and explore the power of good breathing - learn practical exercises aimed at building strength, balance and flexibility tailored for their age group - improve their body image - learn safe and effective self-help practices for the body (self massage, acupressure and kinesiology) - listen to interesting lectures on lifestyle choices for our body when it comes to nutrition, movement, mental health and others - watch inspirational DVD’s - have an individual session with the trainer
