Registration for 27thKerala Science Congress extended

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 1: The Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has extended the last date for online registration and submission of full paper for the 27th Kerala Science Congress (KSC) to 15th October 2014.
The 27th Kerala Science Congress is scheduled during 27-30 January 2015 at Camelot Convention Centre, Pathirapally in Alappuzha. Delegates for can register online through the official website of the KSC at www.ksc.kerala.gov.in.
In-order to focus on the role of technological innovations in making the traditional industry competitive and sustainable,‘Traditional Industries’ has been chosen as the focal theme of the KSC.

The KSC will host special sessions on ‘Transportation Engineering’, ‘Geographical Information Systems (GIS) & Remote Sensing’, ‘Women in Science’ and ‘Technology Innovation and Adaption’. Post-Graduate Students Interaction, Children’s Science Congress,Memorial lectures, and Presentation sessions in identified subject areas are also included in 27th KSC.

The KSC will additionally host special sessions with Young Scientists who have won the prestigious INSA medal in different areas of science and an interaction of bright post-graduate students in science with eminent scientists and academicians.

A national science exhibition will also be organised as part of the Congress at Sanatana Dharma Vidyasala (SDV) Centenary Auditorium, Alappuzha. The best public and private sector organisations including major R&D organisation, S&T institutions and industry will showcase their products, technologies and research works. The exhibition will have a separate session on ‘Assistive Technologies for the Visually Impaired’.
Memorial lectures will be presented by eminent speakers to honour the Science and Technology visionaries and to cherish their contributions. Selected school students in Alappuzha will be given opportunity to take part in the Congress.

More than 2,000 delegates, including researchers, teachers, scholars, and students, are expected to attend the annual Congress.
Contributions based on the Broad Subject areas, special themes on Transportation Engineering, GIS and Remote Sensing and Technological Innovation & adaptation are invited for presentation in the session.
