ABSTRACT
There is nothing more important for a town, than the recollection of its foundation. Almost each ancient walled city has its own poem, at least its own hymn. Vergilius, the famous poet, gathers all the legends related to Rome’s foundation in an epos and thus composes the national poem of the Roman fortified town.
