The tradition of the ashug activity and art of a narrator
in Ordubad folklore environment
The Ordubad ashug activity has a place with its own polished features in the context of the Azerbaijan ashug activity. Although the creativity work of ashug of Ordubad has not an important place in ashug environment of Azerbaijan, there were ashug ceremonies, gatherings in different times. It is the fact that proves the existences of ashug activity in this territory. Creative activities of some asughs in this territory during certain periods tells us the old history of this art. However it is possible to come across information in some sources about existences of ashug activity in this territory. There are some different ideas in these sources about talented ashugs who had to leave Ordubad and live in foreign countries. In the article, the existing information about ashugs who lived and created in Ordubad is summarized. At the same time, new information about it has been found out through researches. The article deals with the development of the ashug poetry and entering this style written literature as well. At the same time, the investigations of epics and national features of epic heroes are held in this territory.
