Abstract: The present research attempts to shed light on a little studied issue in the field of Cantemirology- a comparative analysis of the historical works dedicated to Dimitrie Cantemir’s life and multilateral scientific works. Based on the newly discovered archival materials, as well as publications of documents and specialized research, the author attempts to fill in some gaps and eliminate inconsistencies,which are still encountered in the publications dedicated to the great scholar of the Epoch of Light’s biography.
