Value Work together. •

How do the children work together in the story? (
They use the things they’re good at. They help each other out of the canoe at the end. )

Encourage students to think about why it’s important to
work together:
We all have different talents, and they can be useful in different situations. It’s important to include others so they can use their skills to help to solve problems. •
Then ask students to think of times when they’ve worked
together with their friends or family. They tell the class.
