Duties




The Maritime Systems Division (MSD) within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) provides through-life asset management support services to Navy and Army maritime capability for Australian ships. Our vision is to have balanced, effective and affordable capability and availability across every class.


The Maritime Support Branch and Maritime Systems Program Office provide a range of essential enabling (headquarter) services to support the implementation of MSD's strategy and deliver capability outcomes. These services include maritime assurance; maritime logistics information systems; maritime planning, performance and risk; maritime life cycle support; maritime engineering and logistics services; and maritime resource management.
A number of our business units currently have exciting Project Support and Management Quality Assurance Officer Opportunities in Sydney NSW, Canberra ACT and Darwin, NT. A merit pool will be created at the end of this recruitment process and will be used to fill various positions across the division in various locations. This merit pool will be valid for 12 months and we suspect that over the course of the year, we will continue to draw from it.

Duties




Applications are invited for those interested in an initial 18 months (with possible extension to 3 years) non ongoing fixed term appointment to the role of ECCC Network Director, NSW/ACT ECCC Office. Substantive EL 2 employees and high performing EL 1s are encouraged to apply.


As the ECCC State Network Director, you will report to the ECCC State Network Branch Manager and will be responsible for:

  • leading and managing all aspects of the day to day running of the NSW/ACT State Office, in a complex and changing environment and in accordance with the office business plan

  • developing strong community links between the department and local Indigenous communities

  • performing high level outreach and representational duties

  • establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

  • ensuring the State Office (ECCC) undertakes program management in accordance with program guidelines

  • providing high level advice and feedback to National Office program managers

  • active engagement in the ECCC State Network Leadership Team, including proactively identifying business improvement opportunities

  • leading and managing a team of approximately 30 staff, including ensuring ongoing workforce planning and capacity building

  • managing departmental resources within budget and in accordance with departmental guidelines.

The role requires close working relationships with the ECCC Executive, National Office program managers, State Network colleagues and external stakeholders. A solid understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire a solid understanding, of the Government’s reform agenda in relation to child care programs and compliance practices is expected.


The position is located in Sydney, New South Wales and the successful applicant will be required to establish their work base in that city. Reasonable relocation and settlement assistance may be available to the successful applicant; however no assistance is available for ongoing accommodation costs. Inter and intra state travel will be required.
Special Requirements. Desired:

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • IT Skills and, in particular working with Excel spread sheets and the FaHCSIA Online Funding Management System (FOFMS)

Eligibility


This is a designated security assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security assessment at the Baseline level.
Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
