Descrizione


EUSO-Balloon è un esperimento su pallone stratosferico effettuato in collaborazione con l'Agenzia spaziale francese CNES . Esso è dotato di una PDM completa dell’esperimento Jem-EUSO con un sistema ottico costituito da due lenti di Fresnel (con un lato di 1 metro) in grado di coprire un campo visivo di +/- 5 gradi. Oltre lo strumento principale, l’esperimento monta una telecamera ad infrarossi.

Obiettivi


Gli obiettivi dell’esperimento sono un test end - to- end della tecnica di misura di JEM - EUSO, la determinazione sperimentale del fondo UV della terra a quota minore di 40 km , la prova del sistema di calibrazione a terra , l'osservazione della prima immagine UV di un EAS guardando sulla atmosfera terrestre.
