Removal of Basıc Dye Astrazon Blue Fgrl From Wastewater
Textile industry waste waters contain varied textile dye in high concentrations where organic and inorganic chemicals are dissolved. Removal of textile dye which have serious negative effects on environment and especially living beings, has importance in pollution control and minimization of hazards to environment.
In this study, adsorbtion method and a basic dye, Astrazon Blue FGRL removal are observed. In disposal of AB agricultural rice husks were used as a absorbant.
In the removal of AB from aqeuous solution, the effect of amount of rice husks, AB concentration, contact time, pH and temperature were analyzed. In optimal experimental conditions, (20 g/L rice husk density, 75-minute contact time, 50 mg/L concentration, 20 °C temperature) the effieciency of removal of AB was found to be 86.79 %.
Rice husk and AB absorbation was seen to fit Langmuir isotherm better and maximum absorbtion capacity was found 2.73 mg/g.
After thermodynamic studies, Gibbs free energy values (ΔG) at 20, 30, 40, 50 °C were calculated -3.90, -4.21, -4.21, -4.57 kJ/mol, respectively. Adsorbtion enthalpy (ΔH) was calculated -7.35 kJ/mol and adsorbtion entropy (ΔS) was calculated 37.64 kJ/mol K. AB adsorbtion with rice husk is found to be an exothermic and spontaneous process.
