7.Installing the SSRS Report Library


TMW's SSRS Report Library is available from TMW Web Products. The library contains reports that can be used with the following products:

  • AMS Enterprise

  • Microsoft® Dynamics™ GP Integration

  • TMWSuite®

  • TotalMail®

The reports are installed on your SSRS report server. You do not need a license to use them.

This chapter contains instructions for a first-time installation. For information on adding components to or removing components from an existing installation, go to Adding features to/removing features from an existing installation in Chapter 1, Installation overview.

Before you start the installation, review the system requirements for your server as described in Installation requirements in Chapter 1 of this guide.

Notes:


  1. If there is an existing data source present when you run the installation program, it will be overwritten.

  2. For information on installing AMS Enterprise components, refer to the TMW Asset Maintenance documentation in the Learning Center.

Follow these steps to install the SSRS Report Library.



  1. Download the installation file following the instructions in Downloading the TMW Web Products installation file in Chapter 1 of this guide.

  2. Go to the folder where you saved the TMW Web Products installation file (*.msi).

  3. Double-click the TMW Web Products installation file name.

The Welcome to the TMW Web Products Setup Wizard window opens.



  1. Click Next.

The Custom Setup window opens.

  1. Select how the report modules will be installed on the server.

A tree view in the middle of the window lists all available components. For this part of the installation, you will install only modules from the Reporting component.



  1. Disable all the feature by clicking next to each and selecting Entire feature will be unavailable.

  2. Click next to Reporting to display the modules available.

  3. For each module you want to install, click next to it and select Will be installed on local hard drive.



  1. Click Next to continue.

The Reporting – SSRS Server Info window opens.

  1. Enter information about the SSRS server settings.



    1. Make entries in the following fields:

      Server URL

      Enter the URL of the management endpoint (ReportService2005) for the report server.

      Server

      Enter the URL of the report server.

      Domain

      Enter the domain name of a Windows user account that can manage reports on the report server.

      Password'>Login'>Folder

      Enter the name of the folder where the installation program will put the report library.

      Login

      Enter the user ID used to connect to the report server.

      Password

      Enter the password used to connect to the report server.

    2. To verify the login credentials, click Test Connection.

If the login credentials entered in the window are correct, the Successful connection! message is shown. Click Next.

  1. For each report module you selected, a Database Settings window opens. Enter server and login information for the appropriate database. The illustration shows the TMWSuite Database Settings window.



    1. Make entries in the following fields:

      SQL Server

      The location of the database server defaults to (local). If you want, enter the location of a different server or select it from the drop-down.

      Database

      The default value for the database name differs depending on the module you are installing. If you want, enter another name for the database.

      Login

      Enter the user ID used to connect to the database server.

      Password

      Enter the password used to connect to the database server.

    2. To verify the login credentials, click Test Connection.

If the login credentials entered in the window are correct, the Successful connection! message is shown. Click Next.

    1. Repeat Steps a and b for each report module being installed.

After clicking Next on the last window, the TMW Master - Database Settings window opens.

  1. Enter information about the master database.



    1. Make entries in the following fields:

SQL Server

The location of the database server defaults to (local). If you want, enter the location of a different server or select it from the drop-down.

Database

The name of the database defaults to master. If you want, enter another name for the database.

Authentication

Select the type of authentication required.

Login

Available when SQL Server Authentication is selected. Enter the user ID used to connect to the database server.

Note: The login must have system administrator privileges for the server.

Password

Available when SQL Server Authentication is selected. Enter the password used to connect to the database server.




    1. To verify the login credentials, click Test Connection.

If the credentials are correct, the Successful connection! message is displayed.

    1. Click Next to continue.

The SSRS Report Server - Database Settings window opens.

  1. Enter information about the report server database.



    1. Make entries in the following fields:

SQL Server

The location of the database server defaults to (local). If you want, enter the location of a different server or select it from the drop-down.

Database

The name of the database defaults to ReportServer. If you want, enter another name for the database.

Authentication

Select the type of authentication required.

Login

Available when SQL Server Authentication is selected. Enter the user ID used to connect to the database server.

Note: The login must have system administrator privileges for the server.

Password

Available when SQL Server Authentication is selected. Enter the password used to connect to the database server.




    1. To verify the login credentials, click Test Connection.

If the credentials are correct, the Successful connection! message is displayed.

    1. Click Next to continue.

The Ready to install TMW Web Products window opens.

  1. Click Install.



  1. When the installation is complete, the Completed the TMW Web Products Setup window opens.

To display a summary of new features, click View Release Notes. The Release Note Viewer opens in a new browser window.





  1. On the Completed the TMW Web Products Setup window, click Finish to complete the installation.
