VII. CONTINGENCIES

Neither ECA, the R.O.K. Government, KAEC, the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, nor the cooperating agency in the United States assumes responsibility for personal injury, accident, illness, loss of personal property, acts of war or other contingencies which may befall the awardee or dependents during or in connection with the stay abroad during the period of this award. Neither ECA, the R.O.K. Government, KAEC, the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, nor the cooperating agency in the United States, shall be liable for any claim which may arise from the awardee's failure to enter upon or to complete the project in this award.

The initiation of awards is in every instance contingent upon the availability of contributions to the program from the U.S. Government and the Government of the Republic of Korea, the availability of transportation, stable conditions in the host country and the awardee's ability to procure a passport and the necessary visa.
If it is found before or after arrival that the institution or affiliation specified in the award document does not or cannot fully accommodate an awardee for any reason, KAEC reserves the right to arrange additional or alternative affiliations, or in extreme cases, to withdraw the award.

VIII. REVOCATION OF AWARD

The following statements quoted from FSB Policy Statements 638 (B) define the conditions for a revocation of the award:

"Grounds for possible revocation or termination may include: (1) violations of the laws of the United States or of the host country; (2) acts likely to give offense to the host country; (3) failure to observe satisfactory academic or professional standards; (4) physical or mental incapacitation; (5) engaging in unauthorized income-producing activities."

____ Have you informed KAEC of your travel plans and taken the necessary steps to secure transportation to Korea?
____ Have you mailed your educational materials to the correct address via APO?
____ Have you informed KAEC of your arrival date and time, and indicated whether or not you need to be met upon arrival by a representative of KAEC?
____ Do you know how you will you get into Seoul from the airport and where will you stay?
____ Do you know what are you hoping to do during your first few days in Korea?
____ Have you read all the information KAEC has sent you?
