6. MPEG-7 AVDP

Several broadcasters requested a new profile for MPEG-7 covering several aspects of Audio, Video and Systems. The main functionality of this audiovisual description profile (AVDP) is describing the results of automatic media analysis with audio/video low-level features for audio-visual content. They are to be used for the archives of the broadcast industry. At this meeting, EBU presented several new users of this profile. A software for validating a description with respect to the profile became available. The current work plan foresees the amendment to be finalized in 11/2011.
The group created N12034 AVDP Annex for AVDP DAM (AVDP reference software). This document may be considered when National Bodies cast their vote on ISO/IEC 15938-9:2005/PDAM1. The XM software will be provided at the 97^th meeting. The adhoc group N12026 AHG on Audio Visual Description Profile will work on AVDP topics until the 97^th meeting.
