Worth mentioning is the approach of AFSA and SACBC in South Africa, who in their turn facilitate grants for CBOs and NGOs that do not easily access external (and) internal donors but who play an important role in their (sometimes remote on underserved) communities. These grants are supported by technical assistance and knowledge sharing.
All of these 8 capacity building organisations (ALP, AFSA, SACBC, Safaids, WASN, Yoneco, SIAAP and GAP) are involved in national and international HIV/AIDS networks; however it is not clear to what extent they link their clients (CBOs and support groups) with these networks (except for Zimbabwe: WASN who linked CBOs to the National AIDS Committee and Malawi: the LL diocese who refers CBOs to NAPHAM, the network of PLWHA)
