A licensee may seek IMDA’s approval for the transfer of his registration of telecommunication equipment to another licensee due to business restructuring, merger or acquisition. The transfer is subject to the following conditions:
The transferee shall be responsible for ensuring that all registered equipment to be transferred are designed and constructed in accordance with the standards and specifications published by IMDA. The transferee shall be required to submit a fresh declaration of conformity in accordance with IMDA’s technical standards in respect of the registered equipment to be transferred; and
The validity period of the equipment registration to be transferred shall continue to be valid only for the remaining period of the existing equipment registration but may be renewed where applicable.
Usage, Installation and Maintenance
Suppliers shall inform their customers of their responsibility for the use, installation and after-sales maintenance of the equipment. Suppliers shall in addition, inform their customers on the non-liability of IMDA for the use, installation and after-sales maintenance of the equipment.
Suppliers shall ensure that there is proper installation and after-sales maintenance services of their equipment to meet customers’ needs.
Where required by IMDA, suppliers shall undertake to notify IMDA of the name and address of every customer to whom such equipment has been sold or hired.
Suppliers shall advise their customers that the use of registered equipment to access any network operator’s services shall be subject to the prevailing tariffs and terms of the various service schemes.
Where a licence is required for the use of the telecommunication equipment under the Regulations, suppliers shall inform every customer of the need to obtain such a licence from IMDA.
