Restaurants
Do you often go to restaurants?
I don't want to sound like a shut-in
; no, I don't.
On rare occasions
, like tonight, I will be
going to a restaurant. It's the birthday of a very close friend of mine.
So I have made the
very gracious concession to go to a public venue for a few hours
, but generally speaking,
I don't.
Which do you prefer, eating at home or eating in a restaurant?
Well, I quite like cooking, so the answer would be eating at home. But that is because
I
really enjoy the process of making my own food
. I really enjoy learning how to cut things
very precisely. Like you can watch videos of Gordon Ramsay teaching you how to slice an
onion like a professional chef. And that is
immensely satisfying
to me to be able to do that
really quickly and very precisely.
Have the kinds of restaurants you like changed over the years?
Yes, absolutely. So when I was a child, sincerely,
I was borderline obese
. Thus I loved
going to McDonald's and fast food restaurants. Whereas now, Italian, Japanese and
Korean food in particular are, I would say, my preferred styles with food restaurants.
How do you choose which restaurants to go to?
I guess, distance.
It depends on how hungry I am, how long I'm willing to invest walking or
travelling to the restaurant.
For example, if I would rather Korean than Italian foods, but
the Italian restaurant is closer and I am incredibly hungry-
I'm famished-
Then I'll probably
go to the Italian one before the Korean one.
