TS-10 331 ASPHALT CONCRETE, TYPE S:

GENERAL: The work under this section shall be in accordance with the plans, Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, dated 2000, Sections 330 and 331, except as modified herein. All items and all work shall conform to the lines, grade, thickness, dimensions, cross sections, and notes as specified on the Construction Plans.


Materials shall not be placed on private property. All hazardous material(s) from paver at the lean-out or from any other equipment shall be disposed of from the site.
TESTS - Any or all of the following tests may be required by the County:

    • Determination for the job-mix formula

    • Test of the asphalt cement

    • Sieve analysis of the aggregate.

    • Determination of bitumen content of the asphaltic concrete

    • Plant inspection and verification of aggregate mix.

    • Smoothness of finished pavement by use of a fifteen foot rolling straight edge from which the paved surface shall not vary more than three-sixteenths (3/16") inch.

Any load of Asphalt or portion of a load of asphalt mix at the plant or on the project with a temperature exceeding 335°F or under 230°F shall be categorically rejected for use on the project.


METHOD OF MEASUREMENT: The quantity to be paid under this section shall be the area measured in square yard of Type S Asphaltic Concrete, completed and accepted, and shall include all items and all work described herein, as specified in said FDOT Standard Specifications Section 331, and as specified on the Typical Sections Pavement Design on the Plans.
BASIS OF PAYMENT: The quantity, as determined above, which shall include all work, and all incidental costs specified as being covered under this section shall be paid at the Contract unit price per square yard of Type S Asphaltic Concrete, completed and accepted. Said unit price shall include the furnishing, hauling and placing of materials for mixing, rolling, and for all labor and the use of equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the work. Such price and payment shall constitute full compensation for all items and work described herein. Payment for Type S Asphaltic Concrete shall be made under:

TS-11 400 CONCRETE STRUCTURES:

GENERAL: All work under this section shall conform to the provisions of the FDOT Specifications Section 400, Section 415, FDOT Indices and the Contract Documents.


INSPECTION AND TESTING - The County shall be notified of all work under this section, which will be completed off site. NO concrete shall be placed until the CEI has approved the formwork, reinforcement and attachments. Whenever required by the CEI concrete testing shall be scheduled by the Inspector and coordinated by the Contractor. Precast elements, which have not been inspected by the CEI are subject to rejection and shall be replaced at the Contractor’s expense.
METHOD OF MEASUREMENT: The quantities, as shown on the Bid Form, are approximate and are given only as a basis of calculation for award of the contract. The actual quantity may vary from the estimated amount. The quantity to be paid for under this Section shall be measured, completed and accepted and shall include all items and all work described herein, and as specified in the Plans. The cost of permanently sealing any openings as described in SP-B-01 shall be included in the cost of the item being sealed under this pay category.
BASIS OF PAYMENT: The quantity, as determined above, which shall include all work, materials, equipment, and labor costs specified under this Section shall be paid for at the contract, shall be made under:

TS-12 425 INLETS, MANHOLES AND JUNCTION BOXES:

GENERAL: Construction of inlets, manholes, and junction boxes shall conform to the requirements of Section 425 of the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, dated 2010 and Florida Department of Transportation Roadway and Traffic Design Standards, Indexes No. 200, 201, 210 thru 235, 245, 280, and 282 dated January 2010 except as amended herein.


METHOD OF MEASUREMENT: If a payment item is listed on the Bid Form for work required under this Technical Provision, payment shall be made, per each inlet, manhole, and junction box satisfactorily completed or adjusted and accepted, as specified in the Bid Form.
BASIS OF PAYMENT: The quantities, determined as provided above, shall be paid for at the Contract unit price each for inlets, manholes, and junction boxes if shown on the bid form. Such prices and payments shall constitute full compensation for furnishing all materials and completing all the work described herein, shown on plans, or specified in Section 425 of the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, dated 2010, including all excavation, dewatering, subsoil excavation and replacement material, backfilling around the structure, legal disposal of surplus material, the furnishing and placing of all concrete, reinforcing steel, gratings, frames, covers, baffles and any other necessary fittings, and providing plugs and openings in existing structures as shown in the plans or as directed by the CEI.
When the work described as included in the work of this Technical Provision is not specifically listed in the Bid Form the cost of performing that work shall be included in the contract unit prices for the various items of work to which it is incidental. Payment shall be made under one or more of the following items:
