Educational Theatre as the place for overcoming discrimination of people with disabilities

Subject area: Addressing target groups with special needs

Artistic education, also including Arts and Crafts and Music

Social integration / exclusion
Working language(s): EN
Target Group + Translation:

Individuals with physical or mental disability that are at least 18 years old.

Individuals interested in theatre and acting or working with the disabled (18 years old and older).
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:

Workshop aims to transfer practical knowledge for working with the disabled by means of theatre. Since both disabled and non-disabled individuals will participate in the workshop, we will actively search for actions that have the potential for overcoming prejudice in real life. The workshop will end with a joint public performance created by the disabled and non-disabled alike. This performance will advocate values of solidarity, inclusion and respect for people with disabilities. The workshop follows the stages of tribal initiation (rites de passage), as described by Victor Turner:

1) Separation stage: form roles, norms and values

2) Liminal stage: transitional or limbo phase in which we will explore our every day roles

3) Reincorporation stage: participants reunite with their everyday lives - but! – enriched with the workshop experiences)

"Craftissimo" – Boot your social enterprise!

Subject area: Learning opportunities for people at risk of social marginalisation, Second chance education, Social integration / exclusion
Working language(s): EN
Target Group + Translation:
The main goal of our workshop is to provide upgraded knowledge to disadvantaged people (eg unemployed, young mothers, older workers, etc) that supports them designing, developing, implementing their own social enterprise. Thus, our adult learners may return to the labor market and gain their own source of income and thereby improve their living conditions. A social enterprise does not only fulfill selfish interests, but also the whole society will benefit. This is a form of business, which is based on real social needs, and favors broader social layers. These goals are realized by working with disadvantaged and less educated social groups and/or by serving noble goals (eg. environmental protection). During the selection of participants we prefer: people with own social enterprise ideas, who lack the necessary business knowledge, representatives of non-profit organizations working with less educated social groups. The program targets adult learners, or people who do not participate in institutional education. There is no age limit.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:

The adult learners will receive inspiration, ideas and creative thinking patterns, business skills (market research, business planning, pricing, public relations, communication). They can participate in fieldtrips at well-established social enterprises. Such as the Bike Kitchen, that is a community bike repair workshop, where citizens can learn fixing and building bikes and donate them to disadvantaged people.

Parent-play – let’s play to become a more successful parent

Subject area: Family / Parent education

Health education

Intercultural education
Working language(s): EN
Target Group + Translation:

The major topic of our workshop is to promote the participants in becoming a more successful parent by following along children’s development – on the road of the development of play. During the 8-day-program the participants can relive the most important stages of childhood, from the beginning of infancy through toddler-age up to the teenager years – via a series of games, creative arts activities and sharing experiences. As a result of the experience, they can reflect on their own parental attitude, patterns, share their successes and get support in their difficulties in raising up a child. The supporting atmosphere and the colourful multicultural background help with the deepening of self-knowledge, exchanging parental experiences, energizing and, consequently, strengthening of the parental role and development. TARGET GROUP(S): Our workshop is aimed to support parents, especially single parents of any age-group. We are expecting those to take part who feel like getting stuck during the process of bringing up their children, who are puzzled and want to get distanced of everyday life and focus on themselves, gaining recreation and clarification of their own parental credo.

Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
