The main objective of this workshop is to train the participants, in order to act as multipliers, supporting Civil Society Organisations and contributing to the improvement of the implementation of projects under the Lifelong learning programme and its main features, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. The schedule of the workshop is structured so as to give the participants tools and competences that will help them share their experiences and good practices in the Lifelong Learning programme with its potential users, as well as to motivate and support both individuals and organisations in the implementation of projects under the Lifelong Learning programme.

Through this workshop, we expect that the participants will: learn about how the development of innovative ideas within lifelong learning is becoming easier through non-formal education activities and methodology; realise that when working with lifelong learning, the topic can be chosen freely within the framework of existing possibilities and the learning needs of the learners; experience learning in the framework of a lifelong learning workshop, within an intercultural team of learners; familiarise themselves with non-formal learning tools; gain competences in identifying the learning needs; learn how to identify their own learning outcomes; advance their competences in project management; improve their multiplying skills and abilities; practice in presenting the workshop’s products to an interested public and will become aware of the significance of their innovative contributions to the workshop topic.

Learning Greek language and Greek culture through the eyes of immigrants

Το εργαστήριο απευθύνεται σε οποιονδήποτε γνωρίζει ελληνικά σε επίπεδο Α2 και θα ήθελε να παρακολουθήσει ένα γλωσσικό μάθημα που συνοδεύεται από πολιτιστικές δραστηριότητες. Επίσης απευθύνεται σε μετανάστες και σε στελέχη οργανώσεων που δουλεύουν με μετανάστες και θα ήθελαν να συμμετάσχουν σε ένα εργαστήρι που μπορεί να αποτελέσει «καλή πρακτική».
The workshop is targeting any adult learner who is a greek language user at level A2 and would like to attend a language workshop with a cultural dimension. Also it addresses to immigrants and members of organisations working with immigrants who would like to participate in a workshop that can be a 'good practice'.

Το εργαστήριο φιλοδοξεί να φέρει σε επαφή τους εκπαιδευόμενους με την ελληνική γλώσσα και τον ελληνικό πολιτισμό με ένα τρόπο διαπολιτισμικό. Κύριοι συντελεστές του εργαστηρίου είναι οι μετανάστες/ εξυπηρετούμενοι της διοργανώτριας οργάνωσης, οι οποίοι συνοδεύουν το γλωσσικό μάθημα με δραστηριότητες όπως: μαγειρική, αφήγηση παραμυθιών, παραδοσιακοί χοροί, ελληνικά τραγούδια, πεζοπορίες σε μονοπάτια, επισκέψεις σε μουσεία, αρχαιολογικούς χώρους και τοπικές βιοτεχνίες. Μέσα από αυτές τις δραστηριότητες οι εκπαιδευόμενοι μυούνται στην ελληνική γλώσσα και στον ελληνικό πολιτισμό, αλλά έχουν και την ευκαιρία να συμβάλουν στην οικοδόμηση της ευρωπαϊκής διάστασης αποτελώντας και οι ίδιοι φορείς του πολιτισμού της χώρας τους. Και όλα αυτά συμβαίνουν σ` ένα νησί που αποτέλεσε το 19ο αι. σταυροδρόμι πολιτισμών και η πρωτεύουσα του, η Ερμούπολη, ανέδειξε την πρώτη αστική τάξη της χώρας. Σ`αυτό το χώρο όπου καθολικοί και ορθόδοξοι συνυπάρχουν μέχρι και σήμερα αρμονικά, η ιδέα της διαπολιτισμικότητας γίνεται τρόπος ζωής. Η Βαρδάκειος Σχολή, η διοργανώτρια οργάνωση, εκφράζει αυτήν την ιδέα, αφού σ`αυτήν μαθαίνουν ελληνικά και αγγλικά ενήλικες εκπαιδευόμενοι απ`όλα τα μέρη του κόσμου.
The workshop aims to acquaint students with Greek language and Greek culture through an intercultural way. Key factor of the workshop are the learners (immigrants) of the host organization, which accompany the language lessons with activities such as cooking, storytelling, traditional dances, Greek songs, trecking, visits to museums, archaeological sites and local crafts. Through these activities participants learn the Greek language and Greek culture, but also have the opportunity to contribute to building the European dimension and becoming carriers of the culture of their country. And all these will happen in an island which was back in the 19th century a crossroad of cultures and the capital of Ermoupolis is the city that first revealed the bourgeoisie of the country. In this place where Catholics and Orthodox coexist harmoniously until now, the idea of multiculturalism becomes a lifestyle. Vardakeios School, the host organization, reflects this idea because their adult students come from all over the world.
