Imagine that you are either Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, Nurse, or Friar Laurence, and that you have an Instagram account. You’ve been posting images to Instagram throughout the last few days - pictures of all of the highlights of the things that have been happening in your life, as detailed in the first 3 Acts of the play.
This project requires you to analyze your character. What is his/her personality like? What kinds of things does he/she like or dislike? Get into the mind of your character to make an account that is worthy of Insta-fame.
STEP ONE: Your task is to create an Instagram profile page for the character you have selected using the template provided.
You will create a profile picture, as well as a profile name, a brief bio, and names of a few followers. You will include details about how many posts they’ve made, how many followers they have, and how many people they are following.
Choose 6 events that your character might have posted about on social media. Add images (your own, hand drawn and coloured) to the template, just as you’d see on a real Instagram profile.
Make this assignment colourful and visually appealing. Have fun with it!
STEP TWO: PART A: In addition to drawing and colouring images, you must choose three of your images to provide more detail for, including writing the captions that would go with each image. Captions can include hashtags, and should be much like any caption seen on the real Instagram.
PART B: Choose one image to write about in detail. You must write a 8-10 sentence paragraph that explains why your character would have posted the image to Instagram. How does the image connect with events in the play? How does the image connect with your character of choice? Consider their personality, their likes and dislikes, their mental state. Be sure to write using formal word choice, and follow the rules of formal paragraph structure.
