Duties
The role primarily involves the provision of administrative and legal support to members of the Tribunal, either individually or as a member of a team.
Duties may include ensuring the efficient and effective conduct of hearings, assisting with the preparation and legal editing of Tribunal decisions, drafting directions, interlocutory orders and correspondence.

Eligibility
The AAT generally requires Australian citizenship as a condition of employment. All employees who are engaged for a period of over six months are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check.
The successful applicant will either hold, or have substantially completed a recognised degree in Laws from an Australian tertiary institution or hold a comparable overseas qualification.

This position will be offered for a period of up to 12 months with a possibility of extension of up to three years.

Duties
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) provides independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government and some non-government bodies. The AAT also reviews decisions of the Norfolk Island Government.
The AAT has a number of Divisions: Social Services and Child Support Division, Migration and Refugee Division and the General and Other Divisions. Staff in the Brisbane registry currently process applications made to the Migration and Refugee Division and the General and Other Divisions. Following colocation in mid-2017 the Registry will support the business of all Divisions.
As a member of a team provide administrative support to members of the Tribunal, before, during and after hearings, and undertake case and file management in an environment of client service and undertake general administrative support functions.

Currently there are two positions, these positions may become ongoing in the next 12 months. Should a position become ongoing then the Order of Merit established through this selection process may be used to fill the vacancy on an ongoing basis.

These non-ongoing position will be offered for an initial term of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 3 years.
