Duties




The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s (OAIC) 2017 Temporary employment register is open for candidates to register a general expression of interest for temporary employment.


We are seeking appropriately skilled and qualified individuals to fill short term or temporary vacancies. Opportunities exist for periods up to 18 months for classification levels of APS4 to EL2.

The three broad functions of the OAIC are Privacy, Freedom of Information (FOI) and Information policy. What skills/qualities are we looking for?

We are looking for highly motivated people that can exercise initiative, have excellent communication skills and high-level

analytical skills.


Applicants should have experience in:

  • Policy / Research

  • Case management/ Dispute Resolution

  • Legal interpretation / Drafting guidance

  • Investigations / Decision writing

  • Assessments / Audits

Interested in working with the latest radiofrequency technologies such as 5G, Satellite Systems, next generation communications and more? Want to be part of an innovative and agile team that shapes the Australian landscape and benefits consumers?
The Student Radiocommunications Engineer position sits within the Spectrum Planning Section,Spectrum Planning and Engineering Branch, which is responsible for national radiofrequency planning, including the development of engineering, technical policy and arrangements for access to the radiofrequency spectrum. The branch operates in a complex technical and regulatory environment in an industry characterised by rapid development and ongoing change.
The Spectrum Planning Section undertakes the planning and engineering work to develop spectrum frameworks for new radiocommunications services. A significant focus of the section is the planning of spectrum allocations for the introduction of new mobile broadband services. The Student Radiocommunications Engineer will assist the section with engineering research and analysis and computer based modelling to support established project milestones.


Eligibility


To be eligible for non-ongoing employment with the ACMA, an applicant must have a legal right to work in Australia.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term
This position will be offered on a non-ongoing (casual) basis for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.
