Duties


The IT Service Support Officer position is the key role in the The IT Service Desk team, which is the primary interface for users of IT services provided by the Information Technology section. Team members have a wide knowledge regarding the Court’s operations enabling them to readily understand the impacts of incidents and service requests raised by clients. Clients of the IT Service Desk include Judges, Registrars, Members EA’s and Registry staff along with some external clients utilising the Court’s eApplications.
Members of the IT Service Desk team are geographically dispersed throughout the six states and work together to deliver a consistently high standard of support to a highly professional customer base. Support is delivered both over the phone, utilising remote tools, whilst also providing onsite support to clients in your location.
It is critical that the successful applicant is able to communicate to a variety of clients with differing levels of IT knowledge and is able to effectively prioritise their work to ensure high levels of service and support are provided.
The successful applicant will be motivated to work in a fast paced role, able to think on their feet and be dedicated to continual improvement.
Key duties include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to clients in understanding and assessing their IT support requirements

  • Performing User Systems Administration in Active Directory and Exchange along with bespoke applications

  • Desktop support tasks including SOE deployment, software deployment, hardware deployment including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, iPad's and Smartphones

  • Administrative tasks including: assisting with reports, telephony administration, documentation and producing training materials

  • Accurately use the IT Service Management Tool (Heat) to record and manage incidents, service requests and problems



Eligibility


Employment with the Court is subject to the terms and conditions in the Public Service Act 1999, and the following conditions:

  1. Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship;

  2. National Police Check – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check, and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment;

  3. Health clearance – the successful applicant will be required to complete a health declaration and may be required to attend a medical assessment to confirm their fitness for duty.

Interested candidates who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency are welcome to apply, but note that they cannot be engaged until their redundancy benefit period has expired.


Special Requirements:

The IT Service Desk currently operates from 8AM EDST\EST to 5PM WST, team members are rostered to provide appropriate coverage. Whilst primarily rostered hours will be between 07:00-1900 local time, it may be necessary to either start earlier or finish later.

If required to deliver support for project work, rural or interstate travel may be required.
