Duties


The Information Technology Security Advisor (ITSA) is a new position and will provide high level specialist technical/professional advice to the Archives' Security Executive on the security of the Archives' ICT systems, is responsible for developing an ICT security framework, including policies, plans and procedures and for raising awareness of information security issues with systems users, owners and staff.
The ITSA will also meet internal and external reporting obligations including input onto the annual Protective Security Policy Framework compliance report, independently identify appropriate security risk mitigation measures in relation to ICT projects and be able to conduct ICT vulnerability assessments, make recommendations to mitigate threats and respond to and investigate sensitive and complex cyber security incidents.
The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications in the field of IT security or a proven history and a working understanding of IT security in a government environment, be able to work independently, build strong working relationships and trust with clients, stakeholders and senior management and have strong communication skills with effective presentation and representation skills.

Eligibility


Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting Level 2.

Duties


Manage the recruitment function, including advertising of positions, support and advice to managers and selection panels as well as coordinating the outcomes from selection processes.
