Duties

The Opportunity

As the Senior Adviser of the Infrastructure team in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, you get to advise the Prime Minister and support Cabinet on infrastructure and housing policies and programs.
We work across Government – particularly with the Departments of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Finance and the Treasury – to understand issues, develop positions, and prepare sound advice on priority issues for the Government.
Our work is interesting and often fast paced. It requires a proactive approach to emerging issues and the ability to influence outcomes. This EL2 position leads a small, high-performing team, and plays a leadership role across the branch and division.
This round will be used to create a merit list for any upcoming EL2 opportunities across the Industry, Infrastructure and Environment Division. The Division provides advice on issues including energy, communications, industry & innovation, environment, regional development and agriculture – and is a great place to work.
Our Ideal Candidate
You have demonstrated that you can lead a team to deliver results, including bringing out the best in your team. You collaborate and have strong interpersonal skills.
You evaluate, analyse and provide robust policy advice to the Government and you have a proven record in shaping policy outcomes.
You have initiative, sound judgement and drive, which you use to solve problems and navigate complex, tricky issues. You are organised, flexible, and able to manage conflicting priorities.

You write and communicate with passion and persuasion.

Experience and expertise in infrastructure matters will be looked on favourably for the Infrastructure role, noting that this round will also be used to create a merit list for a broader range of EL2 roles.
What We Offer

  • A flexible, diverse and inclusive workplace and attractive remuneration package including generous employer superannuation contributions.

  • Exciting and fulfilling work at the heart of government with career development and networking opportunities difficult to find elsewhere.

  • The opportunity to work with strong, smart, visionary and experienced leaders who encourage and support you to develop your interests and expertise and achieve your ambitions.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen at the closing date of application.
The occupant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
