Form of assessment of the acquisition of the course: examination, the assessment of which is comprised by: 25% - attendance of lectures and active participation; 50% - the average assessment of independent work; 25% - examination paper (written case study).



The course is delivered in Latvian ( it is possible to listen to the study course also in Russian and German).

Aim of the course.

To provide information about the basic concepts, tasks and methods of work psychology, which is necessary in the professional activity of the personnel manager


Expected result.

On the completion of the course students will have acquired the following knowledge and skills:



  • the understanding of the subject of work psychology, its tasks and methods;

  • the research and description of the professional activity, its role in personnel management, the skill to devise the description of the professional activity;

  • the fundamentals of professional self-determination and methods of its promotion;

  • the psychological basis of professional training and its use in personnel selection, training and evaluation;

  • professional adaptation, formation of individual working style and the application of this knowledge to personnel management;

  • management of professional motivation;

  • psychic ( functional) make up in the professional activity and the possibilities of the increase in the employee’s capacity of work;

  • psychological prevention of traumas.

The aim of the course:

To provide knowledge on par accounting system, its development and standard requirements and their significance for work on personnel management.



The envisaged results:

To understand the significance of accounting, its aims and objectives in the organisation, to know the peculiarities of the accounting records system in the book-keeping of financial assets and management process and their financial result comprehension and report accomplishing, to gain the basic skills in accounting report completing, to know how to calculate accounting problems.



The content of the course:

1. Accounting report system development and basic definitions: Accounting as a calculation type, its objectives and basic principles. Accounting book-keeping and organisational basic demands

2. Accounting legislation and record-keeping system coordination process in the Republic of Latvia and beyond:

Law "On accounting "by the Republic of Latvia, its characteristics; Law "On the organisation’s annual reports", by the Republic of Latvia, its characteristics;

Accounting legislation and record-keeping system coordination process in accordance with the international regulations in the Republic of Latvia and beyond

To promote the formation of students’ comprehension at the level of personal understanding about the structural element of adult education- to study at adult age.


Expected result.

  1. The formation of the understanding of adult education and lifelong education from the point of view of different theories and approaches.

  2. The activation of students’ practical experience by critical reflection on their learning style, tactics and strategies, worms and methods of work.

  3. The development of students’ communicative, organizational, constructive and forecasting skills.

Adult education in the androgogic interpretation. The policy of lifelong education nowadays.

Adult people’s fields of learning (cognitive, psychomotor and emotional)and the different levels of learning strategies (J.Cerry, 1998)

Specific demands:

For the course acquisition the students need at least the previous English language knowledge of A2 level (according to the European common system for language acquisition).



  1. Autonomously study 20 pages of the respective branch articles (using also the articles recommended by other study courses), are able to substantiate the choice of the text, has written a glossary of at least 50 terminology items;

  2. Can participate in a business conversation, expressing their personal opinion and argument it;

  3. During the semester 2 – 3 successful presentations on the read literature;

  4. Obtained positive grading for the passed tests ;

  5. Regular attendance and active participation in the training-sessions.
