3.3.2.2 Interview
McMillan &Schumacher (1997) the interview as a data collection technique was used since
interviews are flexible and adaptable and can be used with many different problems and types of
persons. Furthermore, non-verbal as well as verbal behavior can be noted in face-to-face
interviews and the interviewer has an opportunity to motivate the respondent to be more open.
Therefore, the researcher was articulated the information from each respondent based on
interview guiding questions prepared. However; the questions were flexible according to the
situation and the characteristics observed on face-to-face session. In this study, four guiding
interview questions were forwarded for school principals and teachers originated.
All the interviewee was willing to give interview. A total of three school leaders and teachers
were interviewed which comprises principals/principals and teachers. It includes all three
schools, which are selected in this study. In addition to these, a total of six teachers and a total of
three school leaders from in Abdisa Aga secondary School, Fitche No 2. Secondary school and
Fitche preparatory school were also interviewed in their preferred time. The researcher was
guided by steps approach in data analysis as outlined by DeVos (1998). These steps were used in
conducting the study. The data collected by interviews were listened carefully and re-listened for
clarification, a total of Four interviewees were involved, main thoughts were highlighted and
written down, similar topics were clustered together in all the interviews, data was compared to
establish themes, trends and patterns, emerging themes and patterns were cross-referenced
96/page with the research question to ensure that the research does not lose focus, the themes
were categorized into topics. Related topics were put in one category. Different data belonging to
each category was assembled in one place.
