Activity 1: Build internal institutional capacity for gender mainstreaming and preparation for gender seal certification Purpose: Build internal capacity for mainstreaming gender into all Country office programmes, in conjunction with all our partners. Strengthen gender mainstreaming in the country office through participation in the gender seal certification.

At least each programme incorporates gender concerns at GEN2 and GEN3 level

Activity 2: Develop a Private Sector Gender Seal in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders Purpose: Promote mainstreaming of gender and women empowerment in the private sector, using the Private Sector Gender Seal as an incentive.

Activity 3: Publish and launch the Women and Law booklet in conjunction with Women in the Judiciary and the Department of Justice Purpose: To demonstrate to what extent the judiciary is gender-responsive in its jurisprudence on a variety of gender-related cases before the courts.

5.6 Output Three: Mainstreaming HIV within the public sector
Description: Contribution to a multi-sectoral and sustainable response to HIV, STIs and TB developed and implemented at all levels in line with the NSP.
Activity 1:Support to SANAC to finalize and implement the new NSP (2017-2022)
Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to support SANAC to finalize a new NSP (2017-2022) following the expiration of the previous NSP (2012-2016). The new NSP has to be multi-sectoral in nature and UNDP is well positioned to offer technical assistance to non-health sectors and provide input on structural drivers of the epidemic, human rights and sustainable financing.

Activity 2: Mainstreaming HIV, gender into capital projects Purpose:Through the NDP, South Africa purposes to roll out huge infrastructure projects. The purpose of this activity is to provide technical support to the government of South Africa to ensure that while capital projects are rolled, they should not fuel the spread of HIV and impact on gender equality.

Activity 3: Build the Capacity of SA-IAWJ to effectively address HIV, gender and human rights within the judiciary and wider society Description/Purpose: To ensure that the judiciary has the requisite capacity to address issues related to HIV and the law, stigma and discrimination and human rights violation.

5.7 Output Four: Institutional Support to Public Sector Innovation in SA and the Region
Description: Working with the CPSI, to build institutional capacity to mainstream innovation in the South Africa and the region within the public sector to improve service delivery and overall good governance. This would entail exploring funding mechanisms for public sector innovation; replication of successful and workable innovations in health and other sectors; and co-ordination and promotion of fore-sighting capacities for planning and innovation in South Africa and the region.
Activity 1: Draft a Public Sector Funding Innovation guide /policy
Purpose: Explore funding mechanisms for public sector innovation by hosting a round table with key role players (incl. National Treasury & provincial treasuries and National System of Innovation) on funding of innovation, and consolidate inputs into a draft guide and/or policy.

Activity 2: Host two sector capacity building workshops on innovation Purpose: Expand the successful innovation workshop to other two provinces, with a view to also encouraging peer to peer learning and replication of successful and workable innovations in health and other sectors.
